Insurance Rates
The City of Rifle offers its employees exceptional benefits including:

  • Eligibility for health, vision, and dental coverage available the first day of the month following your start date. Your choice between PPO or High Deductible Plan.
  • City pays 100% of Dental and Vision insurance premium for all employees and their families
  • City pays large % of Medical insurance premium regardless of plan:
    • 100% for Employee Only coverage
    • 85% for Employee + Spouse coverage
    • 80% for Employee + Family coverage
  • City contributes up to $550 annually to HRA when PPO is selected
  • City contributes up to $3500 annually to HSA when HDHP is selected
  • Flexible Spending Accounts, subject to plan terms
  • City payment of 100% of the premium for $30,000 life insurance policy for employee
    • Optional supplemental group rate life insurance for employee and family
  • 5% City contribution toward 401(a) Retirement Plan, (5 year vesting schedule)
  • 3% City contribution toward 457(b) Retirement Plan, when employee elects to participate
  • Nine (9) paid holidays plus three (3) floating holidays annually
  • Two weeks paid vacation annually, increasing with longevity
  • Accrual of 3.69 hours of sick leave per pay period
