Systems Administrator I 


Assists the Systems Administrator II in the support of services provided to the user community.  Monitors, provides technical support for, updates and maintains any number of client/server systems.  Assists in determining the scope, cause, and best resolution of hardware and software issues and / or outages.  Assists in working with stake holders, other IT staff, and vendor(s) to plan and execute applications, systems, and infrastructure installations and updates.  Recommends enhancements for the proactive reduction of future issues and outages.  Is a mid to high-level technical resource to the City, requiring a moderate understanding of how the City’s current information technology functions and what is being developed by the industry. Possesses the skills and knowledge to effectively implement and maintain technologies with guidance.

Experience and Training:



Minimum Education: Bachelor’s degree (preferred) or 2 to 3 years, progressive, work experience in a technically related field. 
 
Job Requirements: Valid Colorado Driver’s License or ability to obtain within six months of hire. Ability to pass a background check and credit check with results acceptable to the City of Rifle.  
 
Work Experience in Positions Similar or Related to This Job: Any combination of education, training, and experience which provides requisite knowledge, skills and abilities for this job. Utility Department - Water Plant Operator D
 
Performs a variety of unskilled and semi-skilled technical and maintenance work in the operation, maintenance, repair, and laboratory analysis of City water treatment facilities, pump stations, tanks, and systems.

Experience and Training:
Minimum Education:  High School Diploma or equivalent.
Job Requirements:  Valid Colorado Driver’s License. Valid Colorado CDL or ability to obtain within six months of hire. Colorado Water Operator’s Class “D” License or ability to obtain within one year of hire. Must be able to pass a background check and DOT physical and drug and alcohol testing. Ability to work on call, rotating shifts, some nights, weekends, and holidays.
Must maintain all licenses.
Work Experience in Positions Similar or Related to This Job:   One year of related experience in water plant operations; or, an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job such as those listed above.

Senior Accountant


Performs high-level of professional accounting and administrative responsibilities in support of the City’s accounting systems and processes. Provides support to the Finance Director. Maintains and reviews financial records. Prepares accounting and budget summaries as well as reports. Performs general ledger administration and reconciliation.

Experience and Training: 

Bachelors of Science degree in accounting, or five years related experience and/or training. A combination of equivalent education and experience may be considered. Experience in government preferred, but not required.

Job Requirements:
