Fleet Mechanic

 Manages and oversee all requirements for the City’s fleet ranging in responsibility from maintenance of existing vehicles/equipment to replacement specifications and expansion of the fleet to meet requirements.  Performs semi-skilled and skilled vehicle and equipment maintenance for the City.

Experience and Training:
Minimum Education: High School diploma or GED equivalent

Job Requirements: Class “B” Commercial Driver License (CDL) required.  Must be able to pass a background check and DOT physical, drug screening.  Ability to work on call, rotating shifts, some nights, weekends, and holidays.    Certifications for Specialty Equipment, Fleet Management, Small Motor repair, Airbrakes, Federal Inspection and other related specialties preferred
Work Experience in Positions Similar or Related to This Job: 

Requires minimum of 5-7 years of progressively multifaceted experience in the vehicle maintenance, welding and fabrication, and heavy equipment management fields.

Recreation Coordinator - Athletics


Designs, coordinates and organizes the activities and personnel of a specialized recreation program. Assists Parks & Recreation Director and Assistant Director in obtaining funds through fundraisers and grants. Promotes the Rifle Recreation Programs.

Minimum Education: Associates Degree or 3 years related experience in the field of recreation
Job Requirements: Valid Colorado Driver's License or ability to obtain within 6 months of hire. Must be able to pass a background check with results that are acceptable to the City of Rifle. Ability to work evening and weekend hours as required.
Job Certifications: First Aid/CPR/AED certification or ability to obtain within 3 months of hire.

Public Works Director



Manages the administration, operations and staff of the Public Works Department in the areas of street maintenance, storm water drainage, equipment maintenance, infrastructure and public improvements.

Experience and Training:
Minimum Education:  A Bachelor’s Degree is required, preferably in Civil Engineering or Construction Management. Colorado Licensed P.E. is helpful.

Job Requirements:  Valid Colorado Driver’s License or ability to obtain with six months of hire. Must be able to pass a background check with results acceptable to the City of Rifle. Ability to operate heavy equipment in rare situations is helpful.

Work Experience in Positions Similar or Related to This Job:   At least 8 years of progressively responsible experience in a variety of public works functions with a minimum of 3 years of supervisory experience.

Full-time, Exempt, Complete benefit package, $86,500.00 to $108,186.00 annually.

Operations & Maintenance Technician



Performs a variety of skilled and semi-skilled technical and maintenance work in the maintenance and repair of City streets, alleys, signs, water distribution systems, and wastewater collection systems, requiring the operation of light to heavy equipment.
