Sheds are required to have a permit if over 200 square feet for residential, and 120 square feet for commercial. As of January 1, 2008 fences will require a permit. All fences must be built in accordance with Rifle Municipal Code. The best policy is to check with the City of Rifle Building Department if a permit is required or not, prior to starting a project. Please direct all building questions to the building department at 665-6460.
